About Enric Massó
I am from Barcelona and have spent much of my career working across business, technology, projects and organisations, both here and in different countries.
I write about different subjects because I am interested in understanding how things work from the inside: a company, a market, a technology or a way of making decisions. Many of the books grow out of direct experience, observation, research and the wish to explain clearly things that are often more complex than they first appear.
I have also travelled extensively over the years, both for work and for pleasure, and have lived in different places. That has often put me on both sides of the same situation: as a visitor trying to understand a place, and as a Barcelonian helping people who come to discover the city. That is why I have long taken part in travel communities and forums, and why I am particularly interested in making visits easier to understand, more engaging and more enjoyable.
That is also where the books aimed at families and younger readers come from. First with Discovering Barcelona, for younger children, and later with Barcelona Secret Agent, a series designed to make exploring the city more participative and entertaining for children and teenagers travelling with their parents.
Writing is not my profession, and that probably shapes the way I approach it. Some books are practical, some more analytical, others narrative. I do not try to force them into a single category.
My professional activity remains separate from this site and can be found at emasso.eu.
A few things that probably didn’t need explaining
There is no editorial team, marketing team or publishing calendar.
I do not have a preferred genre, nor much interest in finding one.
If two consecutive books do not look as if they were written by the same person, that is probably normal.
And yes: sometimes I start working on something without being entirely sure it will become a book.
